Depression/ Loss of Spirit

(When You Feel Down, Life Is Simple. Either Stay Down or Move)

The Chemistry of Moods

You create your own biochemistry therefore your moods through what you do or don't do. Release most of your natural energy all the time as in inspired, loving, sexual, sensual and hedonistic energy and you'll always feel good.

If you want to know how to feel good all the time, live by your true nature. Read my book A Free Spirit's Search for Enlightenment.

Mood Disorders Info

Mood disorders are about feeling way down or way up to the extent that your life is miserable to you. Your emotional state is not stable.

Depression includes some or all of the following symptoms;

aches

anhedonia (loss of pleasure)

fatigue

feelings of hopelessness

lack of initiative

loss of appetite

negative self-image

pains

passivity

poor concentration

poor sleeping

sadness

Depression comes from external events like losing a job or feeling empty inside because you're not quite aligned with your true nature and true purpose in life.

The mental health experts say it could be caused by a neurochemical imbalance in your brain but you create your biochemistry through how you think and live. You can create happiness through what you think and do.

Your moods could change seasonally. This is called seasonal affective disorder - SAD.

A bipolar disorder is when your depression gives way to an excessive feeling of joy and energy. Such mood swings might happen very quickly.

Depression Info/ Melancholy 1

Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.

I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold.

I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me.

I am worn out from calling for help.

Psalms 69:1-3

One can't stay sad very long in such an interesting world, can one?

Anne of Green Gables

The symptoms of depression, as defined by the National Institute of Mental Health are:

Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood

Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism

Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness

Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed, including sex

Decreased energy, fatigue, being "slowed down" Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions

Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping

Appetite and/or weight loss or overeating and weight gain

Thoughts of death or suicide; suicide attempts

Restlessness, irritability

Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders and chronic pain.

Mood disorders, sometimes referred to as affective disorders, are a type of mental illness that affects a person's mood. The predominant mood disorder is called depression, feeling down. The other ones are called manic-depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

The real deal about depression is that it's a box that the psychobabble industry desperately tries to put people in because it represents multi-billions of dollars that "depressed" people spend on drugs and therapy but the truth is that you are your own being. You create happiness or depression through what you do and how you think.

There's no box of life that you enter that some psychologist says you're now stuck in for life unless you take these drugs and go to these therapy sessions at a hundred bucks for 45 minutes.

Granted, sadness is caused by negative, tragic events but how you deal with these events is totally up to you. Many people are lazy and weak and want nothing more than to blame their weakness and failings on some supposed biochemical disorder in the brain.

I implore you to not buy into what these Establishment "experts" say without analyzing yourself and seeing that depression is just uninspiration. Get up off your sorry, self-pitying ass and do something to help someone who needs your help more than you need your self-pity.

Now I'll put on my clone hat and give you the conventional spiel on depression. For the record, here's what they define as depression:

Lack of interest in life.

No joy.

Weight loss or weight gain.

Feelings of guilt.

Feelings of hopelessness.

No energy.

Can't focus.

Tiredness.

No sex drive.

Everybody occasionally gets blue because of life's problems or because of the rut they're in but usually the feelings are temporary and pass within a few days as they get on with their lives. Real clinical depression, however, is like living in a black hole.

You have no spark, no energy, no real reason for living and you might contemplate the idea of doing yourself in, a behavior commonly called suicide. Booze and drugs uplift you for a moment but ultimately only make your problems worse.

The onset may be overwhelming life problems like the death of a spouse, serious litigation against you, prolonged unemployment, depleted finances, a debilitating disability, a general foreboding, a feeling of hopelessness, etc.

These thoughts and feelings affect the neurotransmitters and hormones in your brain which, over time, can leave you in a semi-permanent depressed state where life is almost meaningless to you.

The major causes are:

Coming from a dysfunctional family.

Sexual abuse.

Emotionally disconnected from the human race.

Too much or too little emphasis on God.

Extreme disappointment.

Perceived failure.

Hurried, stressed lifestyle.

General feeling of foreboding like you're not really living a happy life.

People who want too much out of life with unrealistic dreams.

Lack of self-regard.

Loss of loved ones or loss of material things.

Stress at work.

Nobody close to talk to.

Poison people around you.

No humor in your life.

Don't understand yourself as an individual.

Have a lot of unresolved anger and resentment against others. Don't forgive them.

Don't feel free and inspired about life.

Dependent on others for approval.

Not enough sleep or good food.

Too much stress in life.

Comparing yourself to others especially with the gloss on TV.

Watch pop culture entertainment too much. Envious of the glittery life portrayed.

Feel trapped, like in bad marriage, bad job, etc.

Biological malfunction.

Post-partum depression due to hormonal changes.

Thoughts of suicide.

Too much criticism from others.

Many depressed people try to mask it by excesses in any number of ways like work, talk, shop, eat, drugs, booze, etc. These are all cheap psychological games you play to avoid facing yourself.

I suspect that many people in our society live quiet lives of desperation, stuck in their ruts quietly accepting their lives. Inspired action is the only real solution.

Although therapy might help, increasingly doctors are going via the biochemical approach and offering medications like Prozac which raise certain neurotransmitter levels in the brain thus elevating the mood of the individual and giving him the impetus to break out of his rut and get on with life.

Depression Info/ Melancholy 2

Antacids can cause deficiencies of calcium and vitamin B.

Most people who get depressed never seek professional treatment and may wallow in self-pity for quite some time although many people, if left alone, will recover on their own. The golden rule is to take inspired action to break out of it.

Children get depressed too. We live in an increasingly complicated society and children can be cruel to each other.

Dysthymia is defined as a less severe form of depression that persists for at least 2 years and is accompanied by at least two other symptoms of depression. People with this milder form of depression are susceptible to periodic episodes of major depression.

Symptoms or warning signs of depression are:

emotional or physical abuse

exposure to violence

family history of depression

low self-esteem

pessimistic outlook

The most common drugs prescribed to treat depression are:

selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as ?uoxetine, ?uvoxamine and paroxetine.

tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, desipramine and nortriptyline.

Keep open channels of communication with your children and if they get too down, talk to them and set them straight on life, that they're responsible for their own happiness, that they need control, a sense of identity and inspired action in their lives.

Withdrawal and anti-social behavior are the two surest signs of mental problems in a child. You must be gentle with them. Adolescents are deep and sensitive at that age.

Try to talk it out with them and be there as a friend. If they suddenly start to give their personal belongings away and appear euphoric, these could be tip-offs that they're preparing for suicide.

If you live with a depressed spouse, you must be gentle and understanding with him or her. If you can't break them out of their rut, you might have to ask someone like a friend or a religious leader to step in, have a heart to heart with them and encourage them to get help.

More women than men get depressed and very few men will admit to it much less go for professional treatment.

Depression in the elderly is tough because in our youth-oriented society, they have good reason to get depressed. You must focus on health, get a medical check-up, do things to stay active, exercise, get a pet, get out and meet people, etc.

Many lifelong companions die shortly after one another. The remaining person just gives up on life so it is a bonafide fact that your brain power has everything to do with whether you create a heaven or a hell for yourself in your mind.

If you're living or involved with a depressed person, whatever you do, don't give up on them.

Be patient and understanding but a good, old-fashioned speech can't hurt like about pathetic they are wallowing in self pity, the world doesn't revolve around them, there are people far worse off than them doing much better in life and tell them to get real, get up off their butts and take control.

A complete diagnostic evaluation includes:

A physical and neurological examination. Lab tests to rule out other medical conditions that might be causing symptoms of depression.

A history of the patient's symptoms, past treatments, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts or attempts and occurrence of depressive illness in other family members.

A mental status examination to check the patient's speaking and thought patterns and memory.

Based on the evaluation, the treatment of choice may be a form of therapy, antidepressant medication or a combination of the two.

For some severely depressed individuals who are suicidal or psychotic or cannot take antidepressants or who have not responded to other treatments, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) can be extraordinarily helpful and even lifesaving.

There are many different types of antidepressant medications like:

Fluoxetine/ Prozac.

Bupropion/ Wellbutrin.

Sertraline/ Zoloft.

Paroxetine/ Paxil.

Venlafaxine/ Effexor.

Nefazodone/ Serzone.

You may have to experiment around until you find the right medication that works for you.

The latest technique is a Vagus Implant, a little implant put into the chest to stimulate the vagus nerve which then acts on the brain and causes hormonal levels to rise.

Another implant put above the chest is wrapped around a nerve which leads to the limbic system such that when you stimulate it with a remote control device, it sends minor shocks to the brain which cures depression in a lot of people. Magnetic power zapped into the brain creates a similar effect.

If you can't afford a counselor, many communities have free or low-cost mental health facilities where you can get adequate treatment.

In general, most treatment combines counseling and drug therapy sometimes called the Medical-Biological model. Many people crawl out of depression on their own simply by finding their way back to an inspired lifestyle.

The National Institute of Mental Health oversees the D/ART (Depression/ Awareness, Recognition and Treatment) educational program to help with depression and bipolar illness. D/ART also helps healthcare professionals by offering the latest research information.

I've seen books at the library right beside the prozac books touting St. John's Wort as the great anti-depression herb. Besides St. John's Wort, another natural supplement used to treat depression is S-adenosyl-methionine/ SAMe.

The general guiding points to battle depression are:

Know who you are and why you fall into different moods.

Educate yourself about life in general.

Culture an ability to be calm and meditative to keep yourself centered.

Ask God to bless you with happiness.

Be wary of what medications you're taking.

Do inspired and spiritual things.

Have close friends and intimate relationships.

Talk with people in a real way.

Deal with negative events by forgetting about them as quickly as possible.

Deal with negative people by forgetting them as quickly as possible.

If you're in a poisonous relationship either with your spouse or you have a bad boss at work, leave rather than stay and take it.

Have a meaning to your life.

Do tough, worthy things that make you expend high amounts of energy but stop before you reach your limits and burn out.

Eat healthy foods.

Get enough sleep.

Be thankful and positive for your life.

Do things to get you out of feeling isolated and alienated.

Get a pet to love.

Do physical activity, i.e., exercise.

Share your life with others and help people.

Cognitive Therapy to Heal Depression

Do something you like that's useful, at least to you.

Be good. Don't break laws.

I read a book about happiness from the psychobabble section of the library, #158 of the Dewey Decimal System.

I read a book about how to treat depression in your mind without using drugs which is at #616.8527 or RC537 at the library.

First of all, most of us are brainwashed to think that:

The system, namely the psychobabble mental health system has the answers to cure or control depression.

Drugs and psychotherapy are real, legitimate treatments for depression.

The way the system portrays life on TV is the path to happiness and success.

I don't believe any of it. My life is my free spirit. If I follow my true naturee and figure out a way to earn a living from it, I got it made in the shade.

I don't buy into anything beyond me, especially the system's ideas of happiness and success, all of which are geared for you to make money and spend it.

You don't cure depression with cheap one-liner rules about how to think. They call this Depression Cognitive Therapy.

Depression is an illness of the spirit/ soul. A person has lost whatever natural inspiration they might have born with.

They betrayed themselves by not releasing most of the natural energy inside of them day-by-day which built up to make them feel like losers now.

Do what you were born to do by nature. Minimize following the artificial values of the world and couch potatoism.

That's it. Read my other books.

You create your own biochemistry therefore how you feel through what you do or don't do and how you think everyday.

For people who are really lost souls, I recommend to either get some of those happiness books at #158 at the library or get my book:

The Wisdom of Our Great Thinkers

(all the knowledge ever created about getting enlightened, happy and rich;

Is it real or comfort food for weak minds?)

You have to start somewhere so take baby steps in weaning yourself off the system's view of life and setting up an active, inspired, fun life for yourself.

You're not going to get cured looking for sympathy and love from others.

Earn your self-respect everyday. It's as easy as walking five miles, writing out your plan for a great life, then doing it.

Cognitive therapy seems to me to be some overpaid psychobabblist listening to the sob stories of their patients, trying to reassure them that they're either not really wimps or can't be held responsible because they were born that way. I say use the time for a brisk walk. It will be better for you.

On top of that, read my sex book and watch porn. Getting yourself off several times a day will do wonders for your depression.

Here's what they say chronic depression is:

depressed mood

loss of interest or pleasure

Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day

Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in all, or almost all, activities most of the day, nearly every day.

Significant weight loss when not dieting or weight gain, or decrease or increase in appetite nearly every day.

Insomnia or hypersomnia nearly every day.

Psychomotor agitation or retardation nearly every day (observable by others, not merely subjective feelings of restlessness or being slowed down).

Fatigue or loss of energy nearly every day.

Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt nearly every day (not merely self-reproach or guilt about being sick).

Diminished ability to think or concentrate, or indecisiveness, nearly

every day.

(11) Recurrent thoughts of death

(not just fear of dying), recurrent suicidal ideation without a specific plan, or a suicide attempt or specific plan for committing suicide. chronic or not.

What sane person would consciously be like this? Human beings are spozed to be tough. We let everything roll off our books and keep moving or at least that's what I thought after watching Star Trek and The Alamo as a kid.

You can read everything they say out there about treating depression. It all comes down to how naturally inspired you are for your own life, how strong and joyful your spirit is. It takes sweat and power to release your free spirit everyday. Do it and you always feel like the champion of your life.

Screw the psychobabble. Screw everybody else with their stupid ideas, trying to impose them on you.

Forget about depression drugs. It's a scam to make money. Your problem is in your spirit, not anything that drugs can heal.

Too much psychobabble, analysis of life, analysis of the past. Get on with your life. Move. Do things. Listen to music. Dance. Keep doing it. Don't dwell on anything. Live by your free spirit. Forget about all these assholes claiming they got the answers to life by sitting in a room with you talking about the sad times. They're just trying to make money off you and you were stupid enough to buy into this fraud.

They say try to control negative thoughts. I say go out and try to do something hard like run as fast as you can for an hour. You got no time for negative thoughts. You're too busy trying to outdo yourself. That's fun.

They say don't lay in bed all day. I say you gotta feel like you got a God-given purpose you were born with.

Thinking negatively doesn't solve anything. That's why I don't understand why people do it. I feel lucky to be living in the modern world. I'm not rich, famous or young but I still feel I live a great life. I can't sympathize with depressed people. I think they're a bunch of wimps who need a kick in the ass.

I think the mental health industry has some people in it trying to do good but most are in it for the money, especially the ones pushing the mental health drugs. A lot of them know what they're doing is fraud but they go along because it's a safe job that pays pretty well.

Electroshock Therapy/ Electro-Convulsive Therapy

Electroshock is common for depression. They tell a longtime depressed patient about it then he or she decides if they want it.

ABC News did a segment on it. The two people profiled said it was great to ward off depression. They get the ECT every few months.

Mysteries of Life (Where Do We Come From? Is There Life After Death, a God? Who Are the ETs Visiting Earth?)

Mysteries of Life Introduction

As a kid I was brought up in the Catholic Church. I thought it was a good thing for society to have religious standards but then I realized I have my own natural, inherent moral code inside of me.

Some parts of the Bible contradict each other like the jealous God of the Old Testament who suddenly saw the wrong of His ways and became loving in the New Testament which is kinda funny if God is divinely wise.

There are many rules in the Old Testament condemning people to death for trivial transgressions. They accepted slavery as a part of normal life in the Old Testament.

Who did Cain and Abel marry if they were the children of the first man and woman on Earth?

On the Vision Channel in Canada, I was watching a Hindu music video where they were all dancing and praising a statue that looked like Mary and the baby Jesus. They looked foolish but what they were doing was no different than what Christians do.

I live by the spirit I feel inside of me. If God exists, He gave me my free essence as a human being. The best I can do is to honor it.

Many of us spend a lot of time and energy pondering questions that we will never know the answers to in this lifetime, particularly:

Where do we come from?

Is there life after Death? If so, where?

I think I figured it out. I will give you my version of the answers here in this book. In any event, you are the master of this life right here, right now. That’s all anyone knows for sure, this life on Earth in the physical realm.

When I was a kid, they taught me to be a good, little Catholic boy. I was as brainwashed as anyone could be about religion but I gradually realized it was a crutch and a tool of oppression which doesn’t make it bad in and of itself. It just means that a lot of people use religion as a tool to control others through guilt, to gain trust, sexual favours, political power, etc.

Aside from that, even if there is no God, religion serves a variety of pragmatic purposes. It gives us hope, comfort, inspiration and bonds us as communities and societies. It keeps some people on the straight and narrow path and sometimes stops evil people from doing evil things who otherwise wouldn’t think twice about hurting other people.

We are all born with an inherent morality. We intuitively know what’s right and wrong but oftentimes choose to disregard our consciences in order to satisfy our self-centered desires.

For some people, a censoring entity like religion helps to keep them from acting on their dark sides more than they do now.

There could be something after death based on my experiences with mind-altering substances that seemed to lead me to some otherworldly state of mind beyond me which I covered in my recreational drugs book.

If there really was a God, it would be logical to assume that He would intervene to help when He saw His people in great pain and suffering which happens everyday not to mention some great acts of evil throughout history like the Nazi Holocaust but why wasn’t God there to help?

Jesus is similar to all the man-gods before him in other cultures for anyone not to conclude that our concept of our Christian God has at least an even chance of being a figment of someone’s fictional writings.

The bottom line is that nobody can prove there is a God and nobody can prove there isn’t so I deal with my life right here, right now. I will deal with God when I die if in fact he’s there or maybe the devil in hell since I seem to be so irreverent in bowing down to this phantom in the sky.

In any event, I use God as a literary device by default in describing my soul or essence as a human being since if there is anything divine about me this is it.

In the Book of Genesis, they say God breathed into Adam to give him life, implying that He shot some divine, mystical spark into him that made him come alive.

This is the great mystery of life; what exactly gives us this esthetic-spiritual consciousness known as life. It goes beyond just chemical formulas and biological theories. I feel this unique essence, spirit or soul within me. If there is anything divine about me, this is it, this invisible essence that is me.

If God created me, I owe it to Him to be the best specimen I can be to honor this piece of handiwork He made me to be. That’s the way I think just to keep my life simple and to feel connected to whatever is divine in the Universe, if anything.

The best I can do is believe in my soul because if there’s anything divine about me, this is it. Beyond that, I don’t want to believe in anything written or created by other people, even if it is supposedly divinely inspired.

That’s my code and that’s the way of life I’m trying to pass on through my books. I believe that organized religion, psychobabble (the so-called science of human behaviour), pop culture entertainment, the capitalist ideology and all that New Age mumbo jumbo where people are worshipping just about anything out there destroy a great many lives because a lot of empty, weak people give up control of their lives to some external deity or so-called authority in order to get some hope, comfort, love, inspiration or whatever it is they’re looking for but this goes against everything free spiritism stands for.

What I believe about God, human nature and the purpose of life is all tied together in this intuitive, instinctive feeling I have about living by my soul, trusting it and honoring it because if there is anything divine in the Universe that I’m sure of, it’s my soul or essence as a human being.

How Aging Changed My View on God

Life is what you make of it day by day. There could be a God or there might not be. Nobody really knows. Some people think they have supernatural encounters. I’ve had experiences that could be called supernatural but they also could be random chance.

I escaped death several times. Was that random luck or God watching out for me?

Now that I’ve had a cataract and watched my mother get Alzheimer's, I’m more religious than ever. I’m not the atheist I used to be. Religion makes me feel good. That’s why I’m starting to get into it.

I’ve gone to the local Catholic Church to see a few of the concerts. I watch tbn.org and religious shows on TV.

I know about the near-death-experience.

I believe as you age, you start to believe in God more. It makes sense. I want there to be a heaven after I die.

When I lay in bed at night, I ask God to give me power.

Somebody said there is no atheist in a foxhole. It’s true. Notice all those death-row inmates converting to God.

I accept my human weaknesses. It’s easier and more peaceful for me to believe in God than to be an atheist.

I still don’t have rose-colored glasses on about people. That’s probably because I’ve been used, exploited and betrayed by lots of them, even those claiming to love me. I have a dim view of the human race. If somebody tells me they’re religious, it doesn’t mean anything to me. I’ve seen seemingly good people go evil on a dime when somebody angers them. I love animals for their innocence. That’s the purest love.

I was reading some stuff by a guy by the name of Alex Collier. He said the love that you withhold will haunt you forever. That’s the greatest dignity. Show love. Be loving even if we live in a horrible world. There is still beauty in it.

Psychology - Psychiatry Fraud (Their Theories Are Vague; What Is Your Essence?

Psychology - Psychiatry Fraud (Their Theories Are Vague; What Is Your Essence

Psychology - Psychiatry Fraud (Their Theories Are Vague; What Is Your Essence? How Do You Earn Self - Respect & Feel Joy Everyday?)

Mental Health Fraud Introduction

If you ever reach enlightenment, you will have the wisdom to see that the Social Sciences are basically fantasies and lies created by mortal men with big egos who wanted to appear wise and superior so they created these big fields of knowledge, shrouded them in quantitative research methods which is a joke because human behavior cannot righteously be measured, did a bunch of so-called studies, created a bunch of journals, books, testing equipment, etc. and now pretend they have advanced knowledge of the human condition through the formal fields of Establishment knowledge they created but the truth and wisdom of human life is already in your free spirit.

Self-analysis, psychobabble, therapy and counseling are all big money-makers for so-called fields like mental health, psychology and psychiatry but has it ever occured to any of these professionals that it's all bullshit. Live your life. Enjoy what you do everyday. Why waste time analyzing yourself. Your life should be simple. Release the natural energy in your free spirit.

What is normal behavior and what is mental illness? Everybody has their own values as to what is cool and right. There are absolute standards of morality. We call it the Criminal Code and the Civil Code for civil lawsuits. That's all anybody owes society. Don't break the laws and pay your own way. If you do that and you're a pervert in the privacy of your mind as all men with normal levels of testosterone are, so what. That's your business. Some laws aren't based on morality and can be broken as a protest but that's a matter for another discussion.

The mental health industry fails because it encourages people to be pacified victim-wimps blaming their problem on something they supposedly can't control like an organic brain defect (which is a pile of crap because you create your own biochemistry by how you live, what you do and how you think plus they can't drill a hole into your head, take a biopsy of your brain then conclude with certainty that you were born with a defective brain) or something "traumatic" that happened in your past rather than saying screw all that crap, do the best you can day by day, minute by minute with what you got right now. If you don't have the strength to do that, you deserve a pathetic, loser life.

The reason I'm so against the mental health industry is that there are very few people that actually have organic brain dysfunctions that they need professional medical and drug treatment for.

The mental health industry didn't exist a century ago and now we got supposedly 20% of the population taking drugs for depression and millions of kids being brainwashed to take ritalin for some imaginary illness they have called ADHD.

All these alleged mental illnesses they're coming up with, putting into their bible called the DSM, the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, were created by mortal human beings with creative minds, big egos and a desire to make money by creating more mental illnesses in order to get more patients so that they can "treat" them.

It's like asking a barber if you need a haircut. The barber always says yes because he wants to make money off you. It's no different in the mental health industry. They take common events that occur to most people sometimes then blow them all out of proportion calling them serious mental disorders prescribing drugs and therapy for them.

Everybody gets anxiety sometimes, everybody feels down, everybody feels shy or self-conscious in some situations but it's all transient. You control your life by how you think and what you do.

There are no big, fancy-assed, serious clinical mental illnesses at least there weren't in caveman days but somebody created them and because they're system-sanctioned "experts" they get to put these labels on people and most people are too stupid and brainwashed to realize it's a big con job.

That's why I wrote this book. I think the mental health industry is mostly a con game except for the few people with bonafide organic brain injuries and the few born with genetic impairments in the brain.

I'm tired of this credentialling business of system-sanctioned fake wise people. Anybody can go to school, take x number of low level psychology courses, graduate then get certified as a wise person supposedly with insights into the human condition but the truth is that the field of psychology is a bust because they're trying to make it a science of human behavior using quantitive research methods which means there's nothing intuitive, inspired or wise about it. There's no true wisdom there about the human condition or the human soul.

People credentialled to be psychologists know a few low-level theories and therapies like behavior therapy, psychoanalysis and Carl Rogers's listening therapy but so what.

It can't hold a candle to a wise person who feels the intuitive wisdom they were born with and uses it with empathy towards whoever they're dealing with. They have the ability to feel the other person's pain and understand their situation. A lot of people credentialled as psychologists are not tapped into this inherent intuition that some of us are born with.

Take a look at some of our licensed psychologists and psychiatrists. We all have a built-in judgment system based on our own intuition that tells us how vital, balanced and relaxed someone is with just one look. A lot of these people do not look like stellar specimens of humanity even though they are supposedly our wise people.

Over and above inherent intuition, a wise person is someone who has been through a number of life experiences and analyzed them to come to his or her own conclusions about how people operate. This is vastly superior to all the book educated people masquerading as fake life experts with the job title of psychologist or some other form of therapist.

When I went through graduate school in psychology, I was with some of the most introverted, sheepish, protected people around and I was thinking to myself these people are gonna be credentialled as our so-called wise people when they're a bunch of limited, timid sheep who don't know anything about the real world nor have ever been out of their comfort zones to try to do something original and inspired with their lives to discover who they are as individuals.

You forget at least 50% of everything you learn within a year so if it's not intuitive wisdom, it'll be gone after a few years. It's a con job to presume that if you learned something in school x number of years ago, first of all that it's valid knowledge just because it's taught at a university.

Secondly, it's not there on the tip of your tongue anymore. It's long gone unless you relearn it. These so-called psychologists forget most of what they learned in school that's supposed to help them analyze people.

The term "psychologist" has a much bigger intimidating factor than any so-called psychologist within the system could possibly have in real life because they're all low level clones going along with this packaged fake knowledge not questioning any of it nor trying to think their own original thoughts and coming to their own individual insights about the human condition. If they did, they wouldn't go along with this charade.

At some point in time, I left the field because it was too hypocritical for me. This book is about me trying to expose this big lie that most people have been brainwashed by including myself before I got into the field of psychology.

I thought that these people called psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, etc. had some advanced wisdom and insight about life that regular people didn't have but when I got into it, I realized it's just another low level paper chase of taking enough courses to get the required degrees with no mention of true wisdom or insight about the human condition to go along with it.

It's just all a big money racket that has been internalized as a supposedly viable part of the medical system called the mental health field. A hundred years ago if you were feeling down or tense you dealt with it yourself. Now they got these big institutions to "treat" depression and anxiety disorder.

Whatever happened to the self-sufficient, independent individual who ran his or her own life, knew that nobody out there could possibly be wiser than him or her about it and didn't buy into all this phony snake oil just because someone was wearing a white labcoat, had a few letters after their name and was using big words out of a textbook.

It's all the big smokescreen of the falsification of knowledge that exploded in the twentieth century. We gave our power as individuals away to all these Establishment institutions without questioning them.

Primal Man Attacks Modern Bullshit

They have entire industries called Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Subliminal Hypnosis to supposedly change you and improve your life but I say it's another big lie trying to suck unenlightened people out of their money.

I just scanned a free ebook called Treatment of Psycho-Neuroses Through Re-Education of Cerebral Control at positive-club.com. Have a look at it for yourself.

Are we a bunch of idiots falling for crap that is created to aggrandize the egos of phony intellectuals looking to create new cool-sounding crap to make money and elevate their status in this field we call psychology?

What is so complicated about discovering one's true nature the way their God made them to be then living by it?

Does all this modern psychology stuff get in the way of that?

Is this so-called field of psychology more damaging than good because it fills up naive people's minds with wrong ideas that take them even further away than they are now from discovering and living by their true natures?

Is this field of modern psychology a modern-day unsung tragedy that takes people away from discovering that pure essence inside of them and living by it and replaces it with a bunch of garbage about the subconscious mind and the results of a bunch of silly experiments which offer stupid tips like if you watch someone hit a cartoon punching bag, it might tend to make you aggressive and violent or people live on a spectrum of introversion and extroversion. You belong at one fixed point on this spectreum which is not true because I am a fluid human being. I am not introverted or extroverted. I exist in the moment. I do what I want according to what I feel and the situation going on around me.

I cannot be plotted on a graph or with a number like an IQ and told this is you, a fixed entity. You are like this all the time in all situations.

Life doesn't work like that. Life is me creating my life as I live. I, the me, exist in no box. I am a creature of sensual passion, lust, natural wisdom and enlightenment. This is my true nature. I don't care what anybody says about me unless they try to interfere with my life. By the same token , I follow the basic law of civility. I don't mess with other people who don't want me messing with them.

Beyond that, I do what I want. My life is a dynamic flow to me. It doesn't exist in some box some phony intellectual claims he got to by research. If all these phony intellectuals were really as wise as they pretend to be, they would abandon this phony field and live their lives according to their true natures but they don't because they're gutless wimps living a lie, knowing they are spewing out bullshit day after day but going along because they get a paycheck and minor status as fake wise people.

In this book, they use fancy terms like Cerebral Control, Psychoneurosis and de-concentration, claiming they have some technique to change your mind. You cannot change your brain, change who you are by nature except through physical means like drugs, a brain injury, shock treatment, etc.

You cannot will your way to a better consciousness.

The best you can ever do in life is to discover who you were naturally born to be then honor it by living by it. That's it.

There is no such thing as some deep mysterious mental-spiritual reservoir of ideas within you called the subconscious mind.

There is only you and the purity inside of you. Once you discover this pure essence, there are no internal hidden secrets anymore.

All the cosmetic exercises, workshops, techniques and theories are nothing next to that one pure entity an individual was endowed with called his soul or essence.

You are who you are by nature. The best you can do is know it and live in harmony with it.

No modern-day, trivial psychobabble tactics can do anything for you unless they help you live more closely by your true nature.

The Subconscious Mind is a Fake Term For Your Long-term Memory

Sigmund Freud tried to say there is a hidden part of you that you repress because it contains painful parts of your upbringing during childhood that affected your development as an individual. Now you hide it away but you must uncover it through psychotherapy so that you can face it, understand it, deal with it and heal.

First of all, a lot of people have pretty good childhoods. There is no trauma from there that they now hide away in their minds.

Secondly, the issue is not one of repression. It's one of memory logistics. I only have so many gigabytes of space available in my conscious mind (RAM, random access memory) which deals with what I am doing right now and what I am thinking of doing in the future.

I don't repress my childhood. It is stored in my long-term memory. I don't access it because I don't want to. I have no need to. It would waste my time to do so. I am interested in my life right now. If I wanted to retrieve my childhood memories, I would start to think about it and my long-term memory would retrieve parts of what I remember that are stored in the neurons in my brain somewhere.

There is no mysterious, lurid, cool subconscious mind inside of me that houses a part of my identity unknown to me on a conscious level.

Your childhood memories are stored in your long-term memory and it could take a bit of effort to retrieve them. That's not repression. That's the limits of the human brain. It cannot remember everything immediately on demand.

This is a tragedy, to have the field of psychology based on a big lie like this.

Do chimpanzees have subconscious minds? It seems really stupid that animals that share over 99% of our genes would have some deep hidden part of the mind within themselves. Why would they need something like that?

I hide nothing from myself. All my thoughts, consciousness and ideas are on the surface of my life in my conscious mind.

I have had enough dreams to know they are random, meaningless images coming from all over the memories of my life stored in my brain not some deep-rooted hidden parts of my mind that only a so-called psychoanalyst can unravel.

It's a big fraudulent sales job of selling fake knowledge. Most of the dreams I remember are so stupid and ridiculous that they can't possibly relate to my life in the real world.

The subconscious mind is a metaphor for the soul, who you are in your true nature. The thing is that your soul is not a hidden part of you. It's as plain as day. Just discover your true nature. That's your soul.

I Thought Psychology Had Answers But I Had Them All Along

When I was young, I thought there was an advanced group of people somewhere studying matters of life which they wrote about in all those psychology, self-help type books that started to come on the scene in the 1970s.

I was looking for the answers to life. I got brainwashed to think that it was there in these formal system-sanctioned academic fields which were made up of well-researched, rigorous official system knowledge as well as the philosophical theories of past philosophers.

I was intimidated by society's institutions to think that whatever they put out is the legitimate, dogmatic knowledge and wisdom of life but it eventually exploded into oblivion when I saw that it was discrete bits of knowledge gained by doing what amounts to silly experiments that come nowhere near the pure, basic soul of man and how people live by intuition.

It's simple. I am who I am the way I was born. God, the Creator of All Things, made me this way. He gave me intuitive, inherent wisdom that unfolded as I grew to maturity. I followed the nature he gave me in my purity as a human being so now I'm enlightened and free.

All the so-called knowledge the world produces in everything but the physical sciences is questionable at the very least and manipulative bull at its worst.

It was all created by people hiding behind degrees and titles pretending they know something advanced but if they're so advanced they would see that their social sciences are a little box they created for themselves and set off on a course to explore their lives for the unique experience it is based on what they feel within themselves that their Creator gave them but they don't.

They follow the artificial values of the world, case in point, psychoanalysis. They make it out to be some profound, legitimate study of the deep recesses of the subconscious mind. It sounds intriguing and mysterious to the uninitiated but to people like me, it's another example of lies masquerading as legitimate knowledge.

The subconscious mind is just the soul, who you are in your true nature but most people don't know who they really are because they live in the pragmatic world and follow society's rules thereby censoring what they really feel as pure, free bohemians.

If you lived by your free spirit, your normal mode of thinking is as who you really are, your subconscious mind, not this artificial model of life your society operates on. There's nothing mysterious about this so-called hidden part of you.

Just because Freud sat around entertaining the fantasies of rich Austrian women doesn't mean it's righteous knowledge. Life is common sense. If you don't release your sexual energy, you're gonna start thinking about sex. It's got nothing to do with traumatic events in your childhood related to potty training. What a pile of doodoo yet thousands of psychiatrists continue to swear by it like a bunch of clones in the fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes.

Anybody with guts looking for real truth and happiness in life lives by their own reality as a case study and unique experience of one. They leave the bull of the world behind which is why none of the so-called social science/ self-help experts gets it, because they're living in this little box rather than saying screw this crap, I'm gonna live my own life freely, pursuing what I feel.

All the so-called gurus have their x number of steps, stages or rules to a better life which even they don't follow because life as lived is a holistic affair, not some mechanical process to achieve linear goals (defined by capitalism) by following one-liner discrete "strategies" of life.

I came to the realization that all this life advice/ life management stuff is a fiction created to fool people into thinking these phony fields have the goods on life in order to make money off people and otherwise control them because none of it addresses the way people really live, intuitively by what they feel within their spirits.

About a decade after I came to this realization, I came across an interview with Thomas Szaz on the radio who has been speaking against the massive categorization of the human being since 1962 with the publication of his book The Myth of Mental Illness but even though he has been at it for the past 50 years, he said they don't want to listen to him.

It took me over ten years before I found another critic like me in the mainstream media. These voices of truth are censored or shut out of mass media access, probably because the drug companies pay big bucks for advertising and the media outlets don't want to get their cash cow mad at them.

The so-called professional people in the mental health industry would rather live in a delusionary state of denial and collect a pay check than admit they're "experts" of meaningless verbal diarrhea. If a person is free and enlightened, he or she has no choice but to pursue the real truth of the human condition as they feel it not buy into some psychobabble snake oil someone is selling.

They've created massive fields of liberal arts knowledge and categorized the human into hundreds of parts and supposed mental illnesses but it's all a lie because every individual has his own truth, nobody has the right to judge anyone else if they're not hurting anybody and life is not a fixed moment therefore not a fixed diagnosis so if someone diagnoses some person with a mental illness based on some test or subjective observations, the next day that person might not be feeling like that label yet multi-millions of people fall for it and take the drugs given to them to supposedly cure these mental illnesses.

They Say it's Not Your Fault if You're a Weak, Pathetic, Whining, Low-Level Human Being

When they say it's not your fault for being a wimp or otherwise a disgusting person, this takes the responsibility away from the individual whereupon he or she is first relieved that the psychobabblist has said it's not his fault he's a jerk then this person gives the psychobabblist the power over his life whereupon the psychobabblist makes money by writing prescriptions and having therapy sessions with this "patient." It's all about money.

The big deception in the modern world of mental health is that you are not responsible for your weaknesses and failings as a human being. Your failings are supposedly caused by:

1.) A traumatic experience of childhood like being abused which almost every defendant's lawyer of a serious crime brings up in his or her trial.

2.) A biochemical imbalance in the organic, physiological brain that an individual was born with. They can't do anything about it so they're not responsible for their less than stellar performance as a human being.

These are total lies geared to make the mental health industry more appealing to the mainstream who find it easier to seek "treatment" now that they were told that a lot of their negative behaviors are beyond their control but they're not. It's all a grand scheme to sell mental health drugs and therapy.

The truth of life is that you create it as you live it, day by day. You not only create your own thoughts and actions, what you do and think also causes the release or nonrelease of endorphins and neurotransmitters in your brain. This creates your biochemistry which determines your basic mood and attitude day by day.

Back in the day, people lived through the Depression, the War and concentration camps. They had no time to feel traumatized and contemplate their misery through therapy. They had to find a job to earn money to survive. Personally speaking, I live everyday as I experience it. I'm not nostalgic about the past and I can barely remember it anyway.

I've had some tough situations when I was young but they're long gone now. I can barely remember them unless somebody brings them up. It's just the big lie to connect your past with who you are right now in order to suck money out of you in therapy sessions.

Drugs can't cure anything in the mind because almost all mental problems people have are the result of disharmonious spirits. They don't live by their true natures. They betray themselves by following the artificial values of the world then wonder why, despite reaching all the markers of success in a capitalist world, they still feel empty inside. This emptiness causes most of the anxiety, addictions and depression in the world.

The biochemical imbalance theory is a big lie because psychiatrists can't measure neurotransmitter levels in the brain unless they do an invasive spinal fluid extraction. Even then, every individual has their own baseline. You can't tell who has an inherent biochemical deficiency which physiologically makes them sad.

We create our own biochemistries through how we live and what we do. I grant the fact that some sadness is caused by tragedies but life goes on. If sadness goes on day after day, it's the person's fault for being a wimp, getting down on himself, sitting around not releasing his natural energy, not some lie of a biochemical imbalance beyond his control.

It's a great excuse to take the blame off the individual for causing his or her own misery but it's not true. It's a great way to sell drugs and psychotherapy which do not solve the weaknesses in people's spirits.

How to Be a Winner & Make Lots of Money According to Prosperity Gurus

Success Introduction

The operative term is to serve others. Give them what they want or need. If they don't know they need it yet, show them how it will help improve or simplify their lives. Don't be frivolous. Do something that helps people in some way. Find a need and fill it.

What can you do to help others so that they will pay for it?

Find hundreds of books #155-158 and #658 at the library.

The Dale Carnegie-Napolean Hill School

How may I serve you? In order to get what you want, you must first help others get what they want.

The way to success in Life and Business

Whatever you conceive, you can achieve.

Back in the early days of the twentieth century in 1935, Dale Carnegie (1888-1955) hired Napolean Hill to put together a course on how to be successful which he did over the course of twenty years which are summarized in his classic bestsellers Think Positive & Grow Rich, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Think and Grow Rich, etc.

There was a very simple concept behind success and wealth according to the Carnegie method. People are afraid of making fools of themselves around other people so you train for it by being the best public speaker and conversationalist you can be.

In order to make friends and influence people, smile, be a nice guy, go along with what anybody says, be like them, act like them, never criticize, never find fault, etc.

In business, friendship has nothing to do with affection but everything to do with getting what you want despite how insincere and hypocritical it seems.

These "rules of success in a capitalist world" seem basic but they have stood the test of time as to how to be successful in a conventional world. They might seem phony to some in that you're tailoring yourself to others and subordinating the real you but this is the conventional formula to business success, do whatever it takes to make your customer or employee feel really good regardless of how much of your soul you have to sell in the process.

These basic rules of how to be a winner from the conventional self-help point of view filtered through my mind are as follows:

Try to appeal to people's wants. The main motives of people are:

Anger and revenge.

Control of one's life.

Creativity.

Fame.

Fear.

Freedom.

Love.

Money.

Power over others.

Self-preservation.

Sex.

Have an optimistic, positive attitude.

Be enthusiastic and inspired about your work.

Set clear goals and work on them little by little day by day.

Be persistent in your efforts.

Be disciplined, work hard.

Your mental attitude is everything.

Keep your thoughts only on what you want out of life.

Don't burden others with your personal problems.

What separates the great from the average people is a sense of destiny.

Your soul is the greatest source of strength in the Universe.

If you master yourself through self-discipline, no one will ever master you.

Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Never stop learning.

Move a mountain one shovel-full at a time.

Dreamers are visionaries.

Do not hate. It is self-destructive. The greatest revenge is to live well.

You were born with a unique mission given to you by God. Your job is to make it come to pass.

Keep your focus on the prize.

Always strive to improve yourself.

To be successful, simply provide a useful service.

The power or weakness of your mind will determine everything.

For every dream, a price must be paid through hard work. A few flakes fluke out but most success stories are the result of hard work.

Be an active dreamer then work hard at it.

Be an active thinker then work hard at it.

You won't do anything unless you take the first step and try.

Create ideas all the time.

To achieve it you have to want it enough to do the work it takes to get there.

Peace of mind is success.

Decide on what you want then become obsessed with it. That's how simple life is.

Time is finite. Spend it on the relevant things, don't whittle it away on frivolous, procrastination activities.

Make things happen. Take the initiative, take risks.

Always tell yourself how great, fascinating and noble you are.

Think like a winner in life, act like a winner in life.

You are your greatest ally and worst enemy.

Have faith in God and pray regularly.

Love your neighbor or at least act like you do.

Know who you are then live by it.

Don't listen to naysayers and critics.

Rely on yourself. Don't look to others for fulfillment.

The marketplace pays for results. They don't care about the blood and sweat it took to get there.

Keep your sense of common sense.

If you go into sales, you have to be a showman and sell yourself.

Don't wait for opportunities. Create them.

Have the courage to go for what you want rather than fear failure. Your destiny is up to you alone.

Be a people person. Be friendly or at least act that way.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

What you look for is what you will find, either good or bad. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Compliment people. Be easygoing or at least act that way. Smile.

Take the first step to the rest of your life.

Believe in yourself even when nobody else does.

Be a team player. Know how to get along with people.

Surround yourself with positive, hard working people in your business.

A belief in yourself and persistence are the keys to success.

On the road to success, you will fail. Learn from your failures. Sometimes failure will be just what you need to find true enlightenment.

Chances are your library has one or two of these books, probably at #158, the motherlode of self-help books.

Why Think and Grow Rich Seems Kinda Stupid

Napolean Hill's Think and Grow Rich was written in the 1930s. As I scanned it, I thought the funny things about it were:

1.) His idea of telepathy or karma, vibrations, the law of attraction. You supposedly give off vibes that determine how the Universe treats you.

2.) His idea of sexual transmutation, that sex and creativity are part of your lifeforce. Transform your sexual energy into hard ambitious work.

They're both lies. There is no supernatural force guiding anything in life. Maybe when you die but not while you live.

You can have lots of sex and be a dynamo in life. You do not have to sacrifice one for the other.

The Most Generic List of Success One-Liners Ever

Most business success books are at #155-#158, #332 (money), #380 and #650-#659 at the library.

The classic business success books are:

Andrew Carnegie, The Autobiography of Andrew Carnegie (1920)

Baltasar Gracian, The Art of Worldly Wisdom (1647)

Benjamin Franklin The Way to Wealth (1758)

Frank Bettger, How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling (1947)

George S. Clason The Richest Man in Babylon (1926)

Henry Ford, My Life and Work (1922)

Jack Welch, Jack (2001)

John Paul Getty, How to Be Rich (1961) Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (1989)

Over the Top, Zig Ziglar

Sam Walton, Made in America (1992)

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Wallace D. Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich (1910)

Nowadays, there are thousands of business success books on the market, what I call softcore motivational books that do not teach you any particular hardcore skills.

I say none of them say anything more than I say in this article.

Have a sense of purpose.

Be persistent.

Have initiative, faith and the will to do what you want.

Don't quit when you feel discouraged. Sleep on it. When you discover your true nature, you have no choice anymore. Your life is reduced to following it.

Whatever you do, do 100%.

Failure is learning something.

Don't follow the rules of convention which say most things are not possible. Believe in your ideas.

Desire, motivation and inspiration are almost everything. I found them by discovering my true nature then I wrote a book about it called A Free Spirit's Search for Enlightenment. You have to tap into the natural power inside of you.

Whenever you're feeling down, always be thinking that your best self is your true nature. As long as you follow that, you're doing what your God created you to be.

Tap into your natural power then live by it until you die. That's the best way you can possibly live.

Learn and study knowledge you need to get you where you want.

Think up ideas. Keep them in a book. Edit them. Act on them.

Organize yourself. Don't be all over the place. Set a plan.

Procrastination is for people without a solid sense of purpose from their true nature.

Trust your intuition.

You will die so don't fear it. Live strongly until it happens. Everything else you fear is minor. You live then you die. Make the best of it.

TAct like you really care even if you don't.

Do your work with passion.

Build relationships with people in your field. Build trust over time.

Think big, great ideas.

Underpromise and overdeliver on what you do.

The best way to be good at what you do is for you to love it as part of your true nature.

Learn from people by watching them, talking to them and even reading good business books.

Be happy with your work for the sense fulfilment it gives you.

Set high standards, not perfectionist standards but a real good standard. Beyond 90%, the next 10% of quality may not be worth the added effort.

Be stable. Don't be moody. Never blow up on somebody. Calm down when you're angry.

You have to network around to meet people who can help you.

Help people help themselves.

Read both my business and my jobs books cover to cover.

Every night, plan the next day mentally in your head.

Have long-term ideas and visions.

Prepare for unexpected problems. Face them in a calm manner.

Admit you're human and can't do everything.

Constantly analyze your life.

Try to find people with similar attitudes to succeed to befriend and talk to. Preferably find an older person willing to mentor you.

Whatever you do, make sure it is something useful that people get a decent benefit from.

Be likeable.

When you feel weak or have a setback, have a rest and a cry then get back to work. Do not accept failure.

All failures are learning experiences.

Sometimes offer freebies like a free product or free time in helping someone.

Always learn new things in your field.

Be an innovator. Create ideas.

You have to be in sales and sell yourself.

Be a team player.

When people you barely know offer gifts, it means they want something from you.

Write out all your professional career/ business ideas on a publicly available blog.

Success is often disguised in failure or setbacks. Crisis is opportunity.

Control your emotions, especially the negative ones. Keep an even keel by living by your own standards not the standards of the world.

When in a quandry, make your best decision and go with it.

Fall in love with your life.

Develop a loose plan.

Act like a person who serves others to earn the money you want.

Be frugal.

Be as organic and natural as you can be. Chemicals are bad for you.

Forget your ego. Play the role of helper.

Live your life so everyday is interesting.

Avoid bad people as much as you can.

Don't waste time. If there are things you want to do, work at them everyday.

Don't allow yourself to be indoctrinated by anybody.

When people put you down, ignore them.

Be curious.

Be flexible.

Be a creative-intellectual thinker.

Plan your work and work your plan.

Don't do anything immoral.

Commit to what you believe in.

Fulfill your potential as a human being.

Be patient and persistent.

Be inspired which means to release your sirit but at the same time, keep one foot grounded in practical reality.

Use your mind, body and soul as a holistic essence.

Whatever you can conceive, you can achieve.

Every problem is an opportunity in disguise.

Imagine and invent.

The act of creation is the best thing anyone can do. Human beings, made in the image of God, are by their very nature creative, able to create many new, unique, beautiful and better things.

Live as an unfolding masterpiece striving for excellence.

Discover who you are by nature then do it.

Meditate and think about your life and what you do.

Strive for health, wealth and happiness.

Meditate (Zen), search for awakening (Satori), pursue the transcendental wisdom (Prajna) that lies dormant within every person.

Be both wise and kind.

Have self-discipline.

Control your tongue when you feel angry.

Be careful. Don't jump into things without checking them out. Be brave. Venture into uncharted territory while being cautious.

Be honest.

Analyze your life to learn from it.

Be a good citizen.

Live a balanced life. Don't do any one thing to the extreme.

Do not live with an attitude of mediocrity, fear and failure.

Love and passion trigger your creativity. Live to release your natural potential, take charge of your life, live simply, be productive to reach your goals with enthusiasm and courage.

Ask for help if you need it.

Tap into the natural power inside of you.

Ignore criticism.

The American Dream Ideology 1

The traditional version of the American Dream is a lie in two major ways.

The first lie is that the acquisition of material goods and money will make you happier and happier in a direct proportion, the more money you have, the happier you'll be. The truth is that money will increase your happiness until you're out of poverty and have basic material comfort. Beyond that, money cannot increase your true state of happiness.

Beyond the status and worth you personally attach to material goods, they are meaningless once you have your basic material needs covered because happiness comes not from what you own but from what you do day by day to keep yourself feeling inspired, sensual, loving and good.

The American Dream is capitalist excess gone mad. It's not enough to aspire for one car, a nice house and good food but to fulfill all the whims money can buy no matter how frivolous. One guy owns over 90 motorbikes. Another guy lives in a big mansion yet he rarely uses more than three rooms: the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom.

Another guy has spent over $100,000 collecting little doll-like toys. A famous guy you see on TV most weeknights owns his own collection of antique cars in his house. Some girl on some TV show says she likes high heels so she buys over 300 pairs of them.

There is something wrong when a person tries to buy happiness through material goods. It's a signal that there's something missing in their lives. They are not living fun, inspired lives for its own sake.

They are trying to compensate for some emptiness by buying stuff to fill up the empty hole inside but it doesn't work because it's impossible to buy a sense of spiritual-esthetic well-being about one's self. It's something you have to discover and earn within yourself and money is not enough to get it.

I've seen capitalist excess spawn two overdoses in my own little circle of acquaintances. When people have a lot of money, many invariably turn to self-destructive behaviors like gambling, booze, drugs, going to stripjoints, getting involved with seedy characters for the excitement, etc. I know two guys who were decent guys until they got money.

One overdosed and died, the other blew a couple million up his nose, ended up going to jail for assault because he started getting paranoid that everyone was out to get him then seems to have smartened up when he got out.

He told me that when he had the money everybody came up to him trying to get something out of him. He had plenty of fairweather friends willing to do drugs with him. He even had a few lawsuits filed against him. The point is that if he had never gotten the money he never would done what he did.

There is another consequence of living in material excess that almost no one ever talks about. It's the human conscience aka karma or a sense of balance and righteousness.

Everybody with a brain knows that there are millions of starving, desperate, sick people on the planet right now, some of whom need less than a dollar's worth of medicine a day in order to survive yet they won't get it because of the greed and selfishness of the people with money on the planet.

We all know this. Most of us turn a blind eye to it but I'm willing to bet that even the most superficial, biggest phony hooked on status knows that what he's doing is wrong when he's thinking about his life freely in an unguarded moment. If you don't, you're not human.

This has a huge hidden toll on the well-to-do in our society. They love their money, their status and their toys but they intrinsically know they are violating the natural law of the Universe the native Indians lived by, take what you need and share the rest with others who need it.

The second big lie of the American Dream is that if you follow all the rules and work hard, you will get your just due and be rewarded with financial security. A large part of capitalist success is luck, chance, being in the right place at the right time.

Some people fluke out and get rich relatively easily by capturing the zeitgeist while others work very hard and never see financial security. Some are born with silver spoons in their mouths.

Hard work is not a guarantee of success. Hard work with intelligence is closer but there are intangibles beyond this, part of which have no rhyme nor reason.

Many jobs are structured to keep people in poverty. A large segment of the economy is low paying jobs. No matter how much overtime they work, people can never afford a down payment on a house by working these jobs.

Don't expect some genie to come popping out of a lamp to help you just because you will it so with good intentions like all that New Age, self-help junk the phony "Secret of Intention" preaches at you while turning a comfortable profit selling you this modern brand of snake oil.

Don't let yourself get brainwashed to the extent that you sacrifice who you really are for the system's version of success.

How many assholes have I known who think that the bigger the square footage of their house is, the happier or more powerful they'll be?

I knew one guy who was really impressed with himself at getting his backyard swimming pool deck built out of some fancy-assed Italian tiles which was a clear metaphor to me as to what's wrong with the American Dream.

It preaches at us to be arrogant, loud mouth show-offs worshipping excess who buy a lot of crap we don't need to impress everybody with how successful we are while half of the world is starving and there's some guy less than a mile away who's homeless.

There's a massive disharmony in the equation. We are violating the basic law of the Universe which is take what you need, leave the rest for others. Don't exploit anyone or anything.

The traditional version of the American Dream is me in my mansion on the hill with my fancy-assed tile floors and my pretensious appreciation of fine art saying I'm a winner, fuck the pleebes at the bottom of the hill.

Many people have worked their asses off only to end up destitute while their bosses got rich. Exploitation is par for the course.

The American Dream Ideology 2

Many people get brainwashed by glittery images on TV then end up making stupid investments or starting up businesses that are way over their heads because they think it will be relatively easy based on the indoctrination on TV where everything seems so easy and straightforward with characters in sit-coms working menial jobs living in lavish apartments.

Then there's this constant expansionist mindset capitalism is always pushing. If your business is going well, expand. Open a new location or start a second business. How many people got suckered into this one, expanding to bankruptcy?

If you're making a decent living, how much happier can you get by taking on more business? It never ceases to amaze me how so many people who work pretty hard and are doing alright want to expand their business in the mistaken belief that it will make them happier.

It's a lie of capitalism. Where is enough material goods and business enough? Expansion is not always good.

We will run out of our finite resources as a planet at some point in time. You will run out of your finite time trying to earn that magical sum that represents success to you.

How many of my friends from youth are now generic, middle-aged duds so far away from the charisma, freedom, fun and natural inspired power they once had? And I can't forget the one guy who got inoperable pancreatic cancer. He worked his ass off all his life only to die before he was 50.

What do you really own, your inspired sensibility about yourself or all that crap the world sells you?

Is anything worth becoming a one-dimensional generic dud for like all those supposed winners you see on the TV news every night all looking like well-fed, pasty-faced nerds with no spark or joy in their faces?

The American Dream has created a socioeconomic status system where some people are considered superior to others based on what they own and what position they have at work which gives them implicit favored status both out in the world and among some individuals who buy into this lie but it's not really true.

We're all just fallible human beings. Nobody is really superior to anybody else even though a lot of people give people with money and status preferential treatment.

This is unhealthy because it gives some people arrogant, superiority complexes and morally wrong in the sense that people use their money and status to control other people and get them to do their bidding, often unwillingly.

The American Dream has created a one-dimensional mindset in America as to what defines success. This limits a lot of people who would rather be doing something else. How many lawyers or doctors would rather be forest rangers or truck drivers but they got sucked into the status game of particular occupations?

There are very few free people left, the bohemian artists like me who want to live my life my way the way I define it regardless of how the capitalist ideology of the American Dream is pushing me to become some clone manager or some caricature of success in some generic department at some generic corporation.

The ideology of the American Dream teaches us to not be satisfied with our lot in life, to not be happy if we have our health, some food, a bed to sleep in and a warm body to be with.

The American Dream teaches us to always strive for more. A used sedan is not good enough. We should aspire to get a shiny, new sportscar. What this has to do with true happiness is negligible but this is the brainwashed mindset you're dealing with.

Native people who were relatively happy at one time all of a sudden feel deficient and unhappy once they get indoctrinated into the rules of capitalist living. They never have enough anymore. They now always want more.

The American Dream Ideology 3

The American Dream teaches us to set goals and go for them. When we achieve them, our happiness or success level is supposed to go up a little more for the rest of our lives but this is a lie because every morning when you wake up, you have the only thing you own which is your body and spirit. You have to create your own happiness and self-respect on that particular day.

It's not something you reach then you have for the rest of your life. You have to create your life every single day. No amount of money or trophies from the world can help you when you get up in the morning and face yourself as to the person you want to be or the phony image you want to hide behind.

If you're a generic dud who can't run around the block in an easy sprint or have no sense of inspired spark about your life, who cares if you live in a big mansion? It can't make you feel transcendent like you're taking your life for a great ride.

The American Dream is an easy way to blame the individual for the problems that society caused. The politicians and wealthy businessmen make decisions that determine what happens to millions of lower class people often exploiting them somehow but they pretend they don't.

Whenever they see people in poverty or need, they blame it on the people themselves, saying they're lazy or drunks insinuating they just have to work harder and follow the rules of the American Dream but the truth is that society is structured such that the rich get richer while the poor get poorer and more powerless by keeping the power in the hands of the few elitists who exploit the working classes.

And what about discrimination and the glass ceiling against women? There may not be overt discrimination against Blacks anymore but there's still covert discrimination and new groups have taken on the roles of the bottom feeders like the Latinos, the Arabs and disabled people.

They are purposely kept powerless both to fulfill an ego need of those in power to feel dominant and to supply the workforce with low paying menial jobs that no one really wants to do.

If you watch business talk shows, you should notice that all they interview are the few people who have made it big, not the millions who just make an average living or who have failed. This sugarcoats naïve people's ideas about how easy the real world must be.

Many millions of people live paycheque to paycheque. They make just enough to cover the bills of survival but never to get ahead and then we got pop culture TV seducing us into trying to be pop idols or reality TV champions and buying lottery tickets as our way out. They don't tell you about using your own common sense, wisdom and originality to get ahead.

How many millions of people watch silly television shows night after night filling themselves up with destructive ideas rather than focussing on doing something with their lives like living by their own standard?

I believe that current western, capitalist, pop culture society brainwashes us into being eternal consumers such that we get on a work treadmill to buy a bunch of crap we don't need then we get used to this stuff and fall to pieces when our comfort level is pulled out from underneath us as it does for millions of people every year.

It makes it doubly worse for you to deal with it than if you were a person of few material needs who doesn't buy into the hype of materialism or the phony cool image of pop culture entertainment.

Many people divorce. Many people lose loved ones to death every year. Many pension plans crash. The stock market crashes. The weather destroys crops. Your health goes. Your child gets a serious disease or gets arrested for selling drugs. You get into an accident. You get fired. Companies go under or are bought up by vulture capitalists.

Some business owners work hard all their lives only to get charged for tax evasion by the government or to be muscled out by the big, new department store down the street.

I've known a restaurant in operation for 30 years told by government safety inspectors to make expensive renovations which they couldn't afford so that was the end of a lifetime of building up a business because of some insensitive government rules.

There are no guarantees. Even if you do everything right and work hard, there's no guarantee they won't fire you at 50 and you won't be able to find another job in your field. There's no guarantee that your business will go on smoothly. All it takes is a competitor to undercut your price.

There's no guarantee that you'll ever enjoy your retirement. When I was a naïve, young teacher, two of the older professors at the college died of cancer before they ever collected a nickel of their pension. Why wait for retirement? Live now.

Don't listen to anyone. Be smart by having few material needs to start out with then don't listen to all the wanks hyping investments on TV. That's their business, to hype up the stock market. Be more conservative with your money. Bury it in the ground or buy a few rental properties in the middle to upper class part of town.

The high rate of crime in America is not just committed by loner individuals looking to score. It has been helped by the traditional version of the American Dream because it has spawned a huge rift between the upper class who oppress the lower class then wipes their faces in it.

A lot of crime is caused by envy and jealousy. The poor kid sees all the glitter on TV, all the snotty rich people around, gets jealous and angry, wants a piece of the pie too so he goes out and hits some guy in the head to get it.

Why are there half a dozen or more entertainment tabloid shows on TV every night glorifying the lifestyles of the rich and famous? The hidden agenda is to make you envious and think there's a better life over the rainbow which you must aspire to, work hard to get to and in the meanwhile try to imitate by being a good consumer buying a bunch of that crap they advertise in the TV commercials you don't need to enhance your look and perceived status out in the world.

Of course this is all a lie because every morning when I wake up I feel the same regardless of whether I'm in a mansion or a little room somewhere. I only start to feel good after I go for a good run and you don't need much money to do that.

The difference between me and the average American citizen is that I live by my own standard determined by who I am and what I do. I don't measure myself by the traditional version of the American Dream nor compare myself to all those flakes they parade at us on the entertainment tabloid or business shows as special, superior, rich or beautiful people.

If they were truly beautiful people of substance, they would have contempt for that charade, wouldn't flaunt themselves like they do and give most of their money away to help others.

The agenda is to keep the gulf between rich and poor wide to keep the rich protected in gated communities hoarding all their stuff while keeping the poor thinking that if they work hard enough they can get to this illusory place over the rainbow.

The problem is that some poor and oppressed people are so desperate they know they'll never achieve the traditional version of the American Dream by working low paying jobs so all this anger and envy builds up inside until they don't care anymore and go out committing desperate crimes.

A part of it is simply a feeling of getting back at all those wealthy arrogant people who drive cars bigger than they need, wear expensive clothes or talk in sagacious tones when they could get their message across by talking in plain English.

What do you expect if you drive your Jag into the ghetto? You're trying to rub their faces into your superiority. They'll shoot you or vandalize your car.

Once you have a basic roof over your head and all your basic bills covered, material things become useless for creatively inspired intellectual and artistic types.

I have my basic roof over my head and enough food to eat so my time is spent pursuing my inspired-esthetic activities not trying to get ahead in that phony rat race or the keeping up with the Joneses game out there.

I laugh at all the lost souls wasting their lives, playing that game many of whom will get some serious disease caused by stress at work then realize how useless it all is.

The pursuit of the American Dream makes us sacrifice our true natures for artificial things that don't really matter all that much.

Take a tip from your pets as to what's real in life. They eat, run around to get some exercise, sleep, have sex, get some lovin' and hang out with their friends for awhile. Anything else is bull like the kind of car you drive or how big your house is beyond what you need.

Beyond all this, what is the spiritual cost of buying into the American Dream? How many people get hardened, ruthless and brainwashed by the competitive mindset to stand on the pedestal at the top alone?

How many men destroy their relationships with their families to get ahead at the corporation?

How many fathers drive their sons to suicide or drug addiction because of the enormous pressure they put on them to succeed in a capitalist world as opposed to doing what they really want to do?

The American Dream is about money. The Artist's Dream is about feeling what's deep in your soul and connecting to other people but this is not really valued in America.

Pop culture entertainers are glitzed up and put on a pedestal but that's not true art. That's just another manufactured capitalist product meant to tillitate the stupid, empty masses and get them to spend their money on some silly illusion of a phony cool image.

This is where we stand. You got these one-dimensional people on the cover of Forbes magazine worshipping business but where are their desires to understand who they are, take their lives for a great inspired-esthetic experience and connect with others in a deep emotional way?

These things almost don't exist among our brainwashed culture of men who measure themselves and everybody else by the car they drive and their position at work. It's a lost society. There's no doubt about it. Despite our pretenses, most of us are a bunch of lost souls detached from our true natures.

Nobody fools me. I can tell what somebody's like by looking at them. Many of us look like a bunch of chubby, pale, soulless nerds not like healthy, strong, inspired people.

Be careful what you wish for. How much of your dreams are determined by others? How free are you to pursue your own destiny? How many people lose their souls trying to get successful, with success defined out there as opposed to who they really are?

Get it through your head what you're really all about before you go jumping into the rat race of the American Dream blindly. How many millions of people work hard all their lives only to realize at the end that that's not what they really wanted to do?

How many men feel trapped in soulless jobs where they've sacrificed whatever sense of youth, freedom, originality and inspiration they might have once had?

The American Dream is not all it's cracked up to be nor is the bohemian artist's dream. I've lived both. You have to have one foot in each world. Find a middle ground in there somewhere before you leap into a world that could crush your soul.

Read my books to help you become the master of your own destiny.

The American Dream Ideology 4

The Chinese cite the following five factors as determinants of success in order:

1.) Fate, destiny, what you're born with.

2.) Luck, chance.

3.) Feng Shui

4.) Charity, virtue, being good, karma.

5.) Hard work, knowledge.

I've been studying business and career success for several years in writing these books. In the West, we attribute our success to ourselves and failures to the outside world. There's a huge propaganda machine telling us that success is based on hard work, wisdom and education but it's not necessarily true.

Lots of people with equal abilities and equal effort end up at different places on the socioeconomic ladder but we in the West don't seem to accept this fact of life. They try to tell us it's all about ability but it's about destiny and luck too. That's an intangible X factor that nobody can anticipate and prepare for.

Why does the news on any given night tell us about some young person getting murdered or killed while in the business news, some other young person has just struck it rich with a fluky move or being in the right place at the right time as with the internet millionaires? Why does one actor become a movie star while another one with superior abilities never get the big break?

You can maximize your chances by working hard, getting educated and trusting your intuition but they are still no guarantee. We have to get it through our heads that hard work and education do not automatically lead to business and career success.

That's why I think the Chinese are superior to us in their understanding of the human condition. There are factors beyond your control that can't explain fate or luck. Until you understand this defect in the American Dream ideology, you will be living in delusion.

Another thing is the definition of success and happiness. Capitalist society gives us the view that material excess and status/ power are the keys to success and happiness but as an artist of my life, I don't buy into this.

I live alone in my head. I strive to earn money to cover my bills by doing something I love to do anyway. Other than that, my life is mine to do with as I please because that's my definition of success, to spend as much time as I can doing what I want to do freely.

I don't have expensive tastes. I prefer to own as little as possible because I think material things are mostly frivolous wants not needs, they do nothing for my state of happiness and they're a burden too.

Inspiration is my key to life, how I create it to earn my self-respect and feel good everyday.

I've been watching a few business start-up shows that I think are way over the top with their optimistic, positive outlooks. This is poison to naïve people, filling them up with ideas on how easy success is in starting a business venture. On these two shows, they interview only people who have been successful.

They never talk about business problems, failures or bankruptcies. They gloss it up and tell their stories through rose-colored glasses, never breathing a word about the hard work and uncertainty through all the lean years.

You only see one side of the story. Some guy or gal are going on some "success" business show so they play the hype up too to butter their egos since they are now a so-called business success by virtue of being on this show.

I'm warning you, don't buy into all the capitalist self-help hype out there geared to sell books and tape programs full of empty hype to fill your mind up with false hope.

Don't live in delusion. Be more prudent. Look before you leap. Some people say they made it because they were too naïve to analyze it therefore conclude it was a dumb move but many, many people fail this way and you never see it in the media. This is the dirty little secret of life in the capitalist world of material excess dreams.

Don't invest money in anything until you've done some serious homework beforehand. They call it due diligence. Know what you're getting into and know the truth about human nature which is to be self-centered and selfish by design.

We are all trained to be charming or at least functional with other people, to put on a happy, social face. In fact, wolves in sheep's clothing are better at this than anybody else. After 50 years on this planet, I can play along with anybody but I'm as cynical as hell.

If you claim that most people are basically good, you've lived a sheltered life up until now. Do not trust people. Pretend that you trust them but if they ask for something, just tell the truth, you've been ripped off before, you don't know them well enough to trust them. Good people don't ask for money or favors out of the blue.

If they try to make you feel guilty, break off relations with them. They're manipulative. If you put your faith in people, sooner or later, you'll get a knife in the back or a lawsuit. Be especially cautious about going into business with anyone. Business partners have a way of turning on each other. Go solo unless you really trust your future business partner.

I'm not overly paranoid. I've been around and I'm on the streets everyday jogging and biking. Why do people cut me off, almost killing me a number of times? Why do people beep their horns just to be assholes and then give me the finger from the security of their cars?

Just because somebody gets on some show saying they made millions selling colored nail polish, natural cosmetics or maternity fashions doesn't mean you will.
